LapBand to Gastric Sleeve Revision
Bariatric Surgery Revisions
Did you have bariatric surgery and stop losing weight?
Have you regained weight a couple years after bariatric surgery?
Are you just not seeing the weight loss results that you expected?
You are not alone! There may be circumstances in which your primary bariatric procedure does not provide the long lasting results you are looking for. You have options at The Center for Bariatric Surgery. Below is one of our most commonly performed bariatric revisional surgeries:
LapBand surgery can be a highly effective weight loss procedure for many patients however there is no such thing as a 100% success rate with any bariatric surgery. Many LapBand patients initially experienced excellent weight loss and health improvement following their surgery, but then their band may have failed due to technical reasons not related to restrction such as a band slip, band erosion, or port infection. In some of these situations, the LapBand can be revised and the patient can keep their LapBand and continue on their successful weight loss journey. However, under these circumstances, some of these patients may need to have their LapBand removed and converted to another restrictive procedure like the gastric sleeve.
Other LapBand revision patients may have never really succeeded with their band. Maybe weight loss or health improvement was minimal or did not meet the patient's expectations. Some patient's may have had LapBand surgery and were then unable to maintain their band through frequent aftercare visits for adjustments, or may have been completely lost to followup care. Regardless of the circumstances, a LapBand to gastric sleeve conversion can be a very effective option for re-engaging weight loss and meeting your weight loss goals.
